Yeah, what the title says I'll answer in this journal. Questions can be of any type and either about me, my art, my country, my characters, food, whatever.
I will only ignore offensive or too much personal questions, for obvious reasons

Artsy

Do you use different pencils (by hardness, 2B, 3B etc.) when you shade your black-and-white drawings?

Yep. My range usually goes from 4H to 7B and everything in-between. Not that I use all of them necessarily in one drawing, but I like having them around

Have you read any ImagineFX magazines?

Ah, actually, nope, never Only saw it's fancy covers. Seemed like 'too fancy' for me
Sometimes I read separate articles from different magazins on the net, but seldomly feel any need to buy the whole of them

What is your biggest achievement in art?

Frankly speaking, I've never viewed my art as some sort of serious activity where I'd aim to 'achieve' something. It's my hobby, something that brings me positive emotions and relaxation, so as long as it's not a burden and amuses me - that's achievement already
If to speak of 'material' achievements - well, I once drew an ad comic for a magazine that got published. And one of my pieces back from kid's artschool got exhibited in local art museum

What kind of paper do you usually use for your works?

The most ordinary drafting paper that can be found in any stationery shop around Russia for about 50R (about 1,5$) for a pack of 24 sheets. Found it being a perfect combination of grammage/smoothness/price for heavy pencilwork. For sketches/lineart printer paper works for me too

What is the part of human body you find more difficult to draw?

Feet, definitely. Although I can't say I find any specific parts of body really hard to draw, it's the angle that can freak me out

How do you get your shading so smooth?

That depends - it's either blending or pencilwork in layers. It's best seen on this work -  fav.me/d4ge688 - shading on Del's face is blended, since the 'lit' part of her face stays totally untoned, and it's hard to make a soft gradient between bare paper and pencilwork with only hatching. At the same time her jerkin and pants are toned, with several layers of shading added later. The trick is not to jump from lighter pencil to darker one at once, but to increase it's softness gradually, for example tone with HB, then shade with B, then with 2B. Besides, several layers of pencil add a feeling of density and weight in contrast to fair untoned skin

Do you scan or photograph your artwork?

Scan with my nifty little scanner. I tried taking photos in case I'll make a bigger piece that won't fit into a scanner, but I guess my arms are growing out of my ass, because photos never come out right

What book or movie really inspires you to draw?

The one I'm reading/watching at the moment Really, almost every book or movie has at least one particular scene or character that gives me ideas. Although those ideas usually fizzle out very quickly



Life general

Which three places on earth would you travel to, given the choice, time and money?

I always had a dream of visiting countries of ancient civilizations, those that are thousand years old. So far I've only been to Egypt and Izrael (Jerusalem), so my nearest plans are Italy and Greece. As for the third place... I guess Hong Kong. don't know why, it just seems like a mind-blowing place to me

How did you get acquainted with Forgotten Realms universe

When I used to fall asleep to the sound of my Dad playing Icewind Dale

What is your 3 favourite video games of all time?

Neverwinter Nights 2 (obviously ), Pathologic ("Mor.Utopia" in Russia), and the third place being divided between Vampire: the Masquerade - Bloodlines and Silent Hill 2



Stories and characters

Do you have any male oc? Like, some boy to play with?

Yes, and plenty. Back when I was a teen, I actually had my own fantasy world pretty well developed, with several stories, about half-a-hundred characters (two of which you can see here - fav.me/d46ni8u fav.me/d4e3j77) and etc. Sometimes I think about revisiting and reworking it
If to speak about games and NWN universe, my Hero of Neverwinter (from the 1st part) was a guy

Would you be attracted to a man like Bishop in real life?

That's a damn good question In terms of appearence I'd probably be, I like my men a bit scruffy. But in terms of character - nah, guys like him are only interesting and authentic in fantasy-setting, in real life he'd be just a drinking foul-mouthed swine with a criminal record
